ok, my mother is planning on getting a labrador next month and i have looked up on how to train and care for them and such. but i want to get some one on one info here are some questions:
-are they known for biting allot?
-what is the best food for them?
-i hear they are smart so what are the best methods on training them to sit, stop, or restrain?
-what are the best toys for them?
-and what do they like best?
i am open to other tips too!

All puppies explore their world with their mouth.It is up to you to show the dog what it is OK to put it’s mouth on, and what it is not.
There is a specific problem with Labs and puppy foods. This is why "large breed" puppy foods were developed. You want to slow their growth rate slightly to help avoid joint problems later in life. Don’t worry, this has no effect on their adult size, it just takes them a little longer to get there.
The training program that I use probably goes far beyond anything you would have any need of, so I won’t go there. What I will say is that a pups training needs to be kept age appropriate. A puppies only motivations are food and affection, so take advantage of that and cookie train while it is most effective. The dogs motivations will change when it reaches puberty (about 6 months), and training needs to change right along with it.
Retriever is part of the breeds name, and it is what they get the most satisfaction from.
