Age/Gender: 6 weeks, Male
Breed: Black Lab/Golden Retriever mix
Temperment: Mellow, a bit of a follower, easy going
Weight: 3-5 lbs
House Training: Not yet, but he’s learning! He’s currently doing the best of the bunch with housetraining and has the fewest accidents. He’s great about using the puppy pads. With consistency, a schedule and continued training, he’ll be fine but he’s still young yet so as with all puppies, it will be a work in progress for a few weeks.
Crate Training: Another work in progress, he is still learning about the crate and is currently still having accidents in it.
Other Dogs: Good! Pete likes other dogs, but currently he likes exploring his surroundings a little bit more. 
Cats: Good! He sees them around the house, is curious about them and will approach if one wanders into his area, but he doesn’t bark at them or act aggressively. With proper socializing while he’s young, he’ll be just fine.
Children: Dog-respectful children, 8 and older
Adoption Donation: $400
Health: Pistol Pete is healthy and will be neutered, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, and is current on vaccines. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs. In addition, all pets adopted from Motley Zoo come with 30 days of free pet insurance provided by Shelter Care.
History: Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find Pistol Pete a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do!
Notes from Pistol Pete’s Foster Home: Pistol Pete is a mellow little sweetheart who loves to snuggle and give you soft kisses. He’s not excessively loud or outspoken, except during feeding times. He hasn’t shown any excessive chewing behaviors so far, but he is very young so his adoptive family needs to be prepared for all the usual puppy habits as he gets older! Pete likes to explore and play but when he’s done, he always comes back to snuggle with his people. He’s not the leader of the bunch, maybe because he’s easily distracted by everything around him! He takes his time going place to place because there are so many interesting things around him to smell and check out.
Pete loves to lie on soft things (including your feet!) and when he’s ready to go to sleep, he’ll search out a blanket to sleep on – no hard floors for this boy! He’s very gentle and mellow, except when he wants something (like food), then he’s a real pistol! He would be content to fall asleep in your arms and unlike his sister Ava, he is not an alarm clock. After a few token licks, he’ll snuggle into your shoulder and fall asleep with and on you. He’ll make an excellent bedwarmer as he grows. Inquire soon because he is a great little guy who will be an excellent family pet!
All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and either a Martingale collar or a harness, depending on each dog’s particular needs.
