He is 3 year old but my problem is that he doesn’t bark at any body he sees a cat and he doesnt bark he just stares at him and when stranges come over he likes them to touch him but i want him to attack well not attack just like bark he doesnt bark at night he just cries idk why i want him to bark at strangers help !!

I don’t get why you want him to bark at strangers, but here’s how to do it. You need to teach your dog to bark first. Find a situation when he barks and as he barks say "speak" or "bark" and reward him with attention, praise, food, or a toy. Make sure you don’t yell it at him. Stay excited and positive. Do that like 10 times. Then in the same situation, say the command and reward if he barks. If he doesn’t, go back to the first step. When he barks on command, show him that strangers mean to bark. Have a friend walk by. As he sees your friend, tell him to bark. If he barks, reward him. When your friend leaves his view, calmly say quiet or stop. Reward him if he stops. Do this two times a day everyday to get it consistent.

Do I have to treat it like labrador or rottweiler?

Treat it like a dog. Train it as you would any other dog and tailor your training as you find things that work well or poorly with that individual. There is no way to know which parent your dog takes more after in terms of its temperament and working instincts and there are enough Labs and Rotts with widely variant temperaments and instincts that knowing the breeds alone doesn’t help a lick.

Find a trainer that shows their own dogs in dog sports or a local canine obedience club. Sign up for a class. The trainer will have experience with a wide variety of dogs and will be able to give great advice, tips, corrections, and observations as you work with your dog.

Good luck!

Please help

Very, very few dogs have it in them to be real guard dogs and those are trained by professionals.

What you probably mean is a watch dog – any dog that barks is a watch dog and that either comes on its own or it doesn’t.

If she’s "hyperactive", she needs more exercise, a lot more. If she jumps on everyone, she needs some training. Nobody appreciates a large dog jumping on them.

If yes then what should i treat him with ?
He is on human liquid baby food and nutripet infant(solid tablets made from chicken and fish oils). The nutripet infant meal is too hard for him to chew so I give it soaked in water.
BTW guys by baby food i mean milk as in cow’s milk which is properly pasturised (not cartoned, i am not a douche) and high quality infant food, you get infant food for weaning baby(yes food is available for 3-5 month old pups, get your facts right people).

He needs to go back to the backyard breeder he came from for 3 more weeks. This puppy is being fed crap! He needs to be on a high quality, dry puppy food. And yes, he most definitely can eat it – it needs to be moistened with warm water.

When you get him back after he’s old enough to leave his mom and littermates, you start housetraining and training manners immediately. Perhaps you could invest in a good book or two on basic puppy care/training while you’re waiting to get him back.

Hi I have a 7 month old labrador. I found a place where she can start training (I know it took me a while but couldn’t find the right place) for protection and obedience and socialization classes. The thing is this and I really need your opinion about all this.

The training is 5-6 weeks and she stays with the trainer no visits. Then after her training when I go and pick her up they teach me the comands. My dog will sleep in a kennel.

Now here are my questions:
Ps I don’t like the idea that’s she will be sleeping in a kennel she is my everything. She has never spent a night away from me.
Will training change her personality in a good or bad way?
Will she react the same way to me when I go and pick her up as she does now? I know this might sound stupid but I am scared that she won’t love me the way she does now. Or becomes a dog with no personality.
Is a kennel a bad or good thing and why?
What do you think about all this?

I know I am going to have her in my life for a long long time makes me happy. But I want her to be more obedient. She is very important to me.
Pps she knows sit and stay this is more intense training, and they really do look after the dogs really

Thanks a lot
Really thank you for answering

I don’t think it’s too much to worry about. As long as you’re confident in your trainer and believe they will take good care of your furry child, i would give them away for a little while. When dogs are trained to be more obediant, they generally dont lose their instincts and personality. They wont start hating attention and pets just because they learn new things . So, i think, as long as you’re comfortable with the trainer, its probably not a horible idea to put your dog through some training.
-G.H. 24

NO!! Don’t give into her yelping and whimpering as this is what she wants you to do and she will learn that by doing this she can get whatever she wants as long as she does it loud enough.
Your dog will eventually stop and say "hmmmmmmm this isn’t working" and get fed up and give up but only if you don’t give in. Sometimes you have to be hard on your dogs to be nice

-Supervise at all times so that you can prevent accidents. When you cannot supervise then put your puppy in his crate or puppy proofed area.
-Take the puppy out frequently.
-Reward IMMEDIATELY after the puppy potties in the correct location.
-Do not punish accidents as that could actually teach the puppy that you do not want to potty in front of you, causing even more accidents!
Instead calmly scoop up the puppy and take it outside to finish.
-Clean all accidents with a good enzyme based cleaner to remove all odor.

This is a good source that will help walk you through this process!
