Im getting a labrador puppy and want to crate train it but what size would you reccomend on getting? I want a spacious one so when she is an adult there is still plenty of room for her??
And dont worry i will NOT keep her in there for long periods!
There’s NO SUCH THING!
Labs only come black, chocolate or YELLOW!
NOT "spacious"…it’s a bed,not a house.
Crate all night long to keep house, contents & dog safe *&* teach it to wait to eliminate!

The largest one you can find, probably.

This depends if you are going to blend or crush the animal. I have managed to squeeze a rottweiler into a 3 litre bottle once blended.

get at 42" one. Labs and goldens are both large dogs as adults so a mix of the two will be large as well. Get a divider to keep the pup in a smaller area to help with house breaking.

I would say a 42" XL. She will get big.

A big one

If you get a crate that is large enough for the puppy as an adult be sure it comes with a removable separator so that you can make it small for now. If the crate is too large, the puppy might potty in one end and sleep in the other. With a removable wall in it you can expand it as the puppy gorws. Depending on how big the parents are will decide what size she is going to get. My 75 lbs. female is in a crate 20"W X 30"H X 36"L. It is an old crate so you might not find one with those exact measurements but it gives you an idea of what size to get.
Also, Labs only come in yellow, chocolate and black. There is no color on the reg. form for ivory, white, golden, red or silver. Goldens, ivorys, whites and reds are yellows and silvers are chocolates.

All but the largest Labs will do fine in a 36” Pet Porter or Vari-Kennel. If you know the parents were big for a Lab, you might go with a larger one. I have had some lean 70 pound Labs do fine in 36” crates. Sampson is 24” at the shoulder and chooses to spend much of his day in one. Which ever size, blocking much of it off at first is good.
