You’ve beaten your dog into submission and broken his spirit. He’s not a coward, he is terrified of humans because of your abuse. This dog will never trust you, he has no reason to trust.
Rehome him to someone with dog experience who can rehabilitate him and get the best out of him….if he ever does learn to trust a human again.

Because you beat him when he was a puppy–idiot!!! We’ve already read your other post. Stop abusing animals!!!!!!!!! Find that dog a good home–with someone else. He probably hates you,and will eat you soon if you don’t find him a good family.

He is a coward because in you last question you said you beat him.
He sees humans as a threat now because of the cruel actions that enforced. The dog is scared of you and other humans. you should sell the dog to someone who knows how to treat animals kindly.

Dogs depend on us for everything. You have taught him to fear people.
RE HOME THESE DOGS YOU HAVE. YOU DON’T DESERVE THEM.
and don’t get any other dogs.
Get stuffed animals, beat them. Go to a psychiatrist and find out WHY you find it acceptable to beat defenseless animals.

First off I’m not a dog trainer but I’ve had my fair share of pets. when new people come into your home walk with him on a lead to the door where the person is. Tell the person to wait befor coming in and tell them greet you then the dog. The way they should greet the dog is by greeting him on his name and putting their palm out towards the dogs nose so the dog can smell them. Don’t let them push their hands onto its nose that will scare him more and because the dog is on the lead might feel threatened and bite the person. Every time the dog does this say "good (dogs name)" and give it a treat and lots op praises. Never tell the dog bad dog or raise your voice it will only scare the dog more. This way he also gets protective over the home and will not allow people in if you’re not there withh him. And he will become a lot more self assured. Good luck! And remember there is no such thing as an old dog that can’t learn new tricks ! Always give positive reinforcement !

You need to do some socialization work with him. I strongly suggest you find a good obedience instructor and take yourself and your dog to obedience class. This will help socialize your dog and show you how to train and control him. If you live in the US you can find the akc kennel club affiliate closest to you here;
