http://www.sitmeanssit.com In this dog training video, I am just teaching my young Labrador Retriever to dock dive but I am using my swimming pool. I am also combining some disciplined behavior also like him going away from me, sitting out of motion, and staying in one place. I am also practicing that he does not drop the toy to shake off the water until after he gives it to me. That discipline comes in handy when he does hunt tests, and I like to keep him in the habit no matter what the toy or retrieve is.

http://www.sitmeanssit.com Start with a small pile of bumpers. In this video I am using 3, but you can use many more. Send the dog from your side to pick up one of the bumpers and move back after you send him. I also like to practice sending the dog from both the left and right side so that he gets practice in going from both.
Very quickly you will be sending him to the pile that he cannot visually see, and he also does not see anything being thrown. He is on his way to learning to do blind retrieves at distances and to run straight. The Labrador retriever in this video is 8 months old.
