Macon is a 9 month old black lab mix who was brought to the shelter because he was too much for his last family to handle. Macon is a big boy who is still growing and still trying to learn his manners. He is a very smart pup, but does not realize his own size and strength when he gets excited, and can get himself into trouble with his puppy like enthusiasm! Macon was crate trained in his last home and is reported to be mostly house trained as well. He proved to be a little too rowdy with young children and small dogs in his last home. Because of his rambuntiousness, he will need a home without children under the age of 12. Macon is a very sweet and loving dog who just needs proper training and exercise to help him be the wonderful companion he wants so badly to be. I am also combining some disciplined behavior also like him going away from me, sitting out of motion, and staying in one place. I am also practicing that he does not drop the toy to shake off the water until after he gives it to me. That discipline comes in handy when he does hunt tests, and I like to keep him in the habit no matter what the toy or retrieve is.
